November-December 2011
We greet you in the wonderful
name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.
Once again we close another year out, and 2011 has been another busy and
productive year for us here at Gospel Broadcasting. As many of you know, we started the Mountain Top Baptist Church back in July
in Sparta, NC. Please continue to pray for our work
here. We are seeing lost individuals and
families coming to our services and I would love to see them saved. We have already seen some come to know the
Lord but I believe that there are many people in the mountains that need Jesus
as their personal Saviour. One big need we have right now is a building—a place
to meet in. The radio station is just
not an adequate building for us to continue having services over a long
period. Please pray that God will help
us about the building situation. I know
that He has one for us.
Now as for our radio ministry, we
have some exciting things that we are looking forward to in 2012. Hopefully by the spring of 2012, WCOK in Sparta, NC will be going
to 1100 watts of power. This will
increase our coverage area and will get us into some areas that we are
currently not serving at this time. Our
big announcement is for WYZD in Dobson, NC.
We have been approved by the Federal Communications Commission to go to
4200 watts. This will substantially
increase our coverage area. We will be
the largest fundamental bible-preaching gospel radio station in our area. However, we are facing a $50,000 project in
order to be able to do this, but I’m trusting God for the money. Sometime after the first of the year, I will
launch the project to raise the $50,000.
I’m sure in the coming days you will hear much more about this
project. The power increase will be a
great blessing to our area. Our radio
station will be able to reach many more people for the Gospel on a daily
basis. We are really looking forward to
what God has laid before us.
I have also seen an increase in
our letters and mail over the past few weeks of people want our CDs. I wished that I had time here to share a
letter with you that I received the other day from a lady who after listening
to one of our sermons about doubting your salvation settled her salvation and
realized that she was saved by grace. It
was not by feelings and emotions but it is by the Word of God. My friend, we
are helping people. With this radio
ministry, you never know who you are reaching and what seeds you are
sowing. This would be impossible without
you our supporting churches. Let me say a big thank you to all of you who sent
extra Christmas gifts to Kristi and me. It is very much appreciated during this
time. May God Bless you. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
Your missionary in the name of
Jesus,
Ricky Cothren
